Mike is currently the District Engineer for the Melbourne-Tillman Water Control District, encompassing a 102 square mile watershed including parcels within the cities and towns of Palm Bay, West Melbourne, Melbourne, Malabar, Grant-Valkaria and unincorporated Brevard County.

Prior to starting with the District in 2014, Mike spent 29 years with the City of Palm Bay starting in surveying and working up through design, project management, and Engineering Division Manager. During this time, Mike went back to school and received a degree in Civil Engineering at The University of Central Florida, passing the exam for licensure as a Professional Engineer, and becoming involved in the small-town beachside community gaining experience on the various boards with a stint as an elected official.

After completing these personal goals, time to get involved with APWA. Working through the Central Florida Branch officer positions, education and training was a passion and volunteering as Education Chair assisting with Lunch and Learns, Expo Technical Sessions, and setting up virtual webinars during the pandemic. Continuing to stay busy and give back to the Association, Mike accepted the nomination to be a Chapter Officer. In the free time allotted, Mike supports UCF athletics and enjoys the Indian River Lagoon.
